My Story

I’m Angel, a very sweet 13 year old that was taken in by Suncoast Basset Rescue (SBR) when my family couldn’t care for me anymore. They thought I might have basset hound in me but that is questionable. Regardless, I needed help and SBR was there for me. I love to sleep in bed, and I like to get under the covers for warmth. My foster mom calls me her “little burrito” because I like to wrap myself up in the covers. I may snore a bit but my foster mom thinks it’s adorable.  She also says I’m a doll and so easy to fall in love with probably because I love to cuddle and be near her. I get along well with my 3 foster brothers and I’m not afraid to put them in their place if necessary. When I first arrived at my foster home, I was missing quite a bit of hair in several places, so I received medicated baths and some allergy meds for relief. SBR also made sure I received all my vaccines, had my blood worked checked because I’m an older gal and they cleaned my teeth so they’re now pearly white. After my great care from my foster mom & SBR, I look and feel so much better and although I do have some skin issues from time to time, I try to eat a healthy diet and that seems to help me. Because of my age, skin issues and being in my current foster home for such a long time SBR has made me a forever foster. I will stay with my foster mom and my foster brothers for the rest of my life where I will be loved and cared for & SBR will continue to provide for all of my medical care.
