My Story
Purty is a beautiful bassador who spent her first nine years living as an only dog with a yard to play in and her human mom to love. When her mom could no longer care for her, Purty’s peaceful life was upended. She has landed on her feet with SBR and is thriving with her foster family but, as they say, it’s all just been a lot.
Purty is very smart and has adapted quickly to a totally different lifestyle by watching and learning. She’s quite expressive, with a cute grumble that she uses to ask to go out. She’s learning that grumbling is good, but barking just gets you a fast end to fun activities! Purty loves to play ball and catch with her toys and is a quick study for basic instructions.
As the queen of her prior castle, Purty never really had to learn the give and take of getting along with other dogs – or men, for that matter. She is doing great with her foster siblings, but definitely has an alpha-dog streak in her, especially with female dogs. Interacting with other dogs is new, however, and she’s still sorting it out. Her foster family is also working to show her that men can be fun too!
Purty would probably do best as an only dog, or with male dog siblings. Love and patience will go far in allowing this sweet girl’s personality to shine.
