My Story
Hi, I’m Barry the Basset, let me tell you the story of me! My backstory is kinda sad, so I’ll be brief with it. I was a breeder dog that was rescued and ended up in a shelter. I was adopted out and then things get kinda blurry until earlier this year when I was on a walk by myself, and I encountered a nice person who took me in until they were able to connect with Suncoast Basset Rescue.
I am currently living the life with a wonderful foster mom who has a fenced in yard that I enjoy very much, so much so that it’s important for my forever home to have a fenced in yard. No fence? No Barry! I’m described as a happy go lucky guy. I’m easy-going and I don’t ask for much. I’m grateful for any attention I get, and I really enjoy head rubs. I’m decent on a leash and house trained too. I also like to talk to my foster family. I don’t ask to get on the furniture, and I sleep in my own bed next to the human bed. My foster family has cats and even though I get pranked by one of them all the time, we’re still friends. Speaking of friends, I am good friends with dogs, cats, men, women and kids-the total package (you can’t order this package from Amazon!). I’m not too picky about a forever home, as long as there is another dog friend and an abundance of love (and a fenced yard too!)
