My Story

Meet Cooper. He’s 2 years old and is still a total puppy.  

He is completely lovable and a stunningly gorgeous basset. Even though his new person will not be allowed to wear socks, eat their meals in peace or make any future plans without including him, they won’t mind because he will steal their heart. He has lots of energy for leaping in to your lap for a cuddle (which he does frequently) or going for walks and trips to the dog park. He loves to be cuddled and held. He is very playful and has lots of puppy energy.  He loves squeaky toys, food and treats.  He gets along with other dogs but they need to be able to tolerate his puppy ways. He loves kids but definitely prefers adults.

Adopting sweet Cooper will include some hard work but will be wonderfully rewarding for the right lucky people. Whomever adopts him will have to have their socks and underpants on lockdown or he could do himself some real harm.  The best forever home for Cooper would be an active family that has previous basset experience and will include Cooper in their family activities. Because of his puppy like behavior, he gets bored and looks for stuff to rip up and get in to. His foster mom also thinks it best that his forever home have a fenced yard and another dog for Copper to play with.  Cooper is neutered and up to date on all his vaccines.  He is heartworm positive and is currently on restricted exercise due to recently having the fast kill treatment. He is walked on the leash most days and has access to a large fenced in yard. If you think you might be able to provide Cooper with his forever home, please fill out an adoption application for him.
