My Story
Daisy is a sweet, older long-haired girl who has a great love for the belly rubs and snacks and shows a great curiosity about these creatures that the humans call ‘cats’. She came to SBR at the ripe old age of 14. Daisy’s previous dad had to make the difficult decision to relinquish Daisy to SBR because of his traveling for work and Daisy had to climb 22 stairs down and then back up every time she needed a potty break. Daisy has a condition known as Addison’s disease, which means that her body doesn’t produce enough steroids. She has had Addison’s Disease since she was very young. It doesn’t seem to bother her and her condition is treated easily with Prednisone daily (easily administered in a pill pocket) and with an injection every 40 days, also easily administered by the foster family as indicated. She’s a slow and gentle creature and lives with her foster sister Peanut who is also a sweet basset. Daisy is a forever foster and will live out the rest of her life with her foster family.
