Our Story

Hi my name is Dunklin and they tell me I’m a 12 year old male basset hound but my foster mom says I’m very young and active for my age. I’m neutered, have all my vaccinations and I am a very healthy boy.

My very best friend and confidant is April. We were both living our best life with our mom. She gave us lots of love, attention and took us for car rides with her. She really spoiled us. Then our mom died and things got crazy for April and me. We went to live in 2 different homes and they didn’t want to keep us so we were sent back to our mom’s home but mom wasn’t there any more.

Finally, someone called Suncoast Basset Rescue(SBR) to help us.  SBR knew my best friend, April, wasn’t a basset hound but they knew I needed her and we needed each other so they took both of us in and we went to live with our wonderful foster mom. She is giving us the love, care and attention we need.

April is an American bulldog mix. She is 8 years old, spayed and also has all her vaccines. We are both potty trained and know how to use a doggie door. We would love our forever home to have a fenced in yard and someone who would give us lots of love and attention. I, personally love lots of attention but April would just prefer to sleep on the couch. We both walk okay on a leash plus we’re good with cats and other dogs too.
