My Story

Meet Fred. He recently came to Suncoast Basset Rescue with another basset, Star when their dad passed away. Fred and Star were being fed by a neighbor for a period before family could come from out of state. They were not getting much attention or being let outside on any regular basis during this time either. When an SBR volunteer picked up both Fred and Star, they were completely covered in fleas, and it was apparent by their physical condition that they did not get much veterinary care. Fred and Star went together to a foster home, but their foster mom realized that they were not a bonded pair and were in fact “living separate lives” in her house. Fred is around 11 years old and already has an adoption pending once he is deemed medically fit. For being a senior hound, Fred is uppity, bouncy, and fun. He can be silly and very vocal too. We are so happy that he has found his forever home.
