My Story
My name is Hank. I am 3 years old and just as cute as can be. Sadly, last fall, my daddy passed away and the man that came to care for me didn’t do such a good job. Fortunately, a nearby business owner noticed I was starting to lose a lot of weight and was able to get custody of me. They took me into their family and loved me dearly. Unfortunately, I started resource guarding my favorite human and it became unsafe for one of the children in the home. They contacted SBR and asked them to take me into their care. My foster mom has been working with me on my human resource guarding and I am making progress. I tend to guard whoever I deem as my favorite person from men and male dogs. The issue almost always takes place inside the home. Outside, I rarely ever have an issue. I am going to require an owner that will be the boss and not let me take over. I will require someone willing to put in the time to work with me and not fall for my sad eyes when I act out. I am potty trained and there is absolutely no need for me to be crated. I don’t counter surf and haven’t even offered to get in the trash can at my foster home. I love to play with my foster siblings and run the Basset 500 in the backyard. I would love a home with a playful female dog but wouldn’t mind having male playmates/friends outside of the home. I’ve been working on being okay with cats. So far so good. I’m very curious but wary of what they might do. I do have environmental allergies and will require daily medications for them to keep them under control. Due to showing aggression towards one of the children in my previous home I will need a home without children. If you are a pack leader and are an experienced owner and I sound like I might be the boy for you contact SBR. I’m not quite yet ready for adoption but should be soon.
