My Story
Rufus is 13 years old. He and his daughter, Sophie were relinquished to Suncoast Basset Rescue when their previous owner became ill. She wasn’t able to take care of them anymore. They were left living in the yard and on the porch with someone checking on them and feeding them every couple of days. Unfortunately, earlier in 2022, Sophie crossed the rainbow bridge. Rufus suffers from chronic skin issues, ear infections and requires eye meds. He is a sweet old guy but is so starved for attention due to being neglected. His foster mom takes great care of his medical needs, and he enjoys time in the backyard, interacting with the 5 other basset hounds and of course napping on comfy dog beds. Rufus is a forever foster and because of his age and medical needs he will live out the rest of his life with his foster mom.
